To encourage use of the Payroll Giving scheme, the government are offering grants to companies that use it to donate. It will need a lot of looking into to make sure that you actually benefit from the scheme, as there are costs involved for administration, but if you are donating to charity anyway it may be worth a look - the charities get extra money, and you benefit too.

Self employed people can apparently benefit from it also.
Definitely something to seek advice about.
